VAT and regulations

What the regulations require on an invoice, built into document creation.

Regulations

What the rules require, the program puts on the invoice.

You choose whether the customer is a company, a consumer or a public body, and the program sets the right rate and legal note. It checks the VAT number of an EU customer in VIES.

  • Reverse charge for the EU and domestic
  • VAT on a cash basis
  • KPR and PO-SD for sole traders, IRA book

Note on the invoice: reverse charge, the customer accounts for VAT.

Legal notes

Set a VAT exemption once and it is written by itself.

You create a legal note once, with the exemption text picked from a list. If an item is always exempt, the note goes on the item and appears on every invoice. If it is only sometimes exempt, the item keeps regular VAT and you choose the exemption on that invoice.

  • A note per tax category
  • Always or only on a given invoice

EU customers

EU customers: VIES check and the right rate.

You mark the customer as an EU company and enter the VAT ID. For lines with reverse charge the program sets VAT to 0% and adds the legal note. What is supplied in Croatia, such as food and drink served on site, accommodation or goods picked up in the shop, you mark once so it keeps Croatian VAT.

Business premises

The program drafts the internal act.

Before the first fiscalized invoice every premises needs a code, a device code and a numbering rule. Kigo drafts the internal act from your settings, and the invoice number is built like 1/POSL1/1.

Frequently asked questions

Where do the KPD codes come from?

The picker uses the official Klasus list of the Croatian Bureau of Statistics, so the codes always match the state list. KPD is required on every e-invoice line.

Who decides which rate and note apply?

You and your accountant. The program writes what you set, and the rules for your trade should be checked with your accountant.
